Fire x Flood: Wildfire & Flood Risks to Historic Sites in the US

This map presents the locations of registered Historic Places throughout the US, overlaid with layers about the regional risks of wildfires and flooding. Fires and floods are both naturally occurring phenomena that can affect large portions of populated areas, and which tend to be made more frequent and severe by global climate changes.

The purpose of this map is to visualize the degree of vulnerability of irreplacable historic resources, in order to help public and private initiatives take preventive measures to protect them in the event of disasters. I've embedded the map in an interactive interface, offering the user some key bookmarked locations as well as the ability to search for specific places and to swipe between the two risk layers.
