Unschooled Population in Mexico

Project Type

Cartographic Visualization

Date

May 2024

This map visualizes the percentage and total population of people in Mexico (15 yo and older) who have not been to school. The percentage of the population that is unschooled is represented by the color of the diamonds (more in yellow, less in blue), and the total unschooled population is shown by the size. This information is shown by municipality and by state, and you can click on the map to see pop-ups with more information about each area.

This map is important because it can indicate which regions are most in need of educational resources. Although this was academic work, a map of this kind could help local governments or educational organizations strategize to improve opportunities in the areas with relatively large unschooled populations.
